The purpose of the Celebrate Recovery Ministry at First Baptist is to change the course of our lives, from following selfish ambitions and personal desires which end up causing us so much grief, to knowing and following God's perfect and Christ-centered plan and purpose for our lives which will by necessity lead us out of bondage to our old, painful resentments, hurts, addictions, and habits. Our healing is to be for His glory, not our own satisfaction.

We are once again holding in-person meetings!

Fall 2019

We have concluded another cycle of the Celebrate Recovery 12 Steps. With the completion of our ninth year of Celebrate Recovery, we need to inform you of a great addition this Fall.

First, I want to thank every that helped with our prayer and recovery booth at the Big Knob Fair which ran August 27 through August 31. We spoke with many people, prayed with many who shared a need with us, and even had some long conversations about spiritual matters with a few of our guests. Thanks also to everyone who stopped by, we continue to pray for you and hope we can continue to encourage you.

As for that addition I mentioned, our weekly gatherings moved from Friday nights to Tuesday nights beginning September 3, 2019. When we started CR at First Baptist of New Brighton, Friday was a good fit. Lately, however, Friday's have not been working well as there are simply too many distractions. The change to Tuesday is an important part of the new addition we're making to our recovery ministries...

We continue to have Celebrate Recovery, now meeting on Tuesday, but we are also adding a recovery ministry for the friends and family members of those struggling with addiction, resentment, hurts and habits. This new ministry seeks to come alongside those who have friends and'or family members in addiction and/or recovery, helping them understand what is happening and how to actually help the process of recovery. When someone you care about is struggling with addiction, you need encouragement, understanding, help and support also. This new ministry for friends and family is called Tuesday Night Oasis.

I hope to see you at Celebrate Recovery / Tuesday Night Oasis in September and throughout the Fall.
